Leh

DAY 1

Arrival in Leh

  • Upon arrival at the Leh airport, our representative will meet you at the airport
  • Transfer to your hotel, check-in and have breakfast
  • After lunch, the day will be free for you to rest so that your body can adjust to the high altitude of Leh
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel

 Magnetic Hill

DAY 2

Leh – Excursion to River Confluence, Magnetic Hill and Hall of Fame & Orientation tour of Leh (35 km, 1.5 Hours’ Drive one way)

  • Post breakfast, you will ride to Nimu where the major rivers of Ladakh, Indus and Zanskar meet. En route, you will also see the gravity defying phenomenon of the Magnetic Hill, the force from which often speeds up vehicles and disturbs airplanes flying over and Gurudwara Pathar Sahib where the Gurunanak defeated a demon
  • In the afternoon, on the way back, pay homage to the war heroes at the Hall of Fame. Later, return to Leh to visit the Shanti Stupa and the Leh Market for some Tibetan shopping experience
  • Your vehicle will pick you up close to the market to visit the Shanti Stupa, It is situated at a height of 4267 meters overlooking the Leh city, and it gives a panoramic view of surrounding snowcapped mountains
  • Dinner and overnight at the hotel

 Nubra Valley

DAY 3

Leh – Nubra Valley via Khardung La – Sand Dunes of Hunder (130 km, 5 Hours’ Drive)

  • In the morning, following breakfast, check-out from the hotel
  • You will start moving North to Nubra Valley, also called the Valley of Flowers or Ldumra. Cross the famous Khardung La Pass (18,380 feet), the world’s highest motorable road
  • After reaching the resort/camp, you will check-in and rest. A hot lunch will be served
  • Later, visit the popular Sand Dunes of Hunder, a scenic landscape, where you can enjoy a ride on a double-humped Bactrian camel (optional activity on direct payment basis)
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the camp/resort

DAY 4

Nubra Valley – Turtuk – Nubra (80 km, 2.5 Hours’ Drive one way)

  • Following an early morning breakfast, embark on an adventurous journey driving through spectacular landscape into the realms of the Balti dynasty, to the quaint village of Turtuk
  • Turtuk is the last village, the village is located at an altitude of around 9,846 feet and is inhabited by the Balti people of Tibetan decent. This beautiful village is located on the edge of the Shayok Valley which is the part of the Nubra valley.
  • Turtuk was only open to travelers in 2010, just a few kilometers away from LOC, between India and Pakistan, now on the Indian side, until the year 1971, Turtuk was under the control of Pakistan.
  • Have lunch in Turtuk and return back to Nubra Valley.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel

Sand Dunes

DAY 5

Nubra Valley – Diskit Monastery – Leh (130 km, 6 Hours’ Drive One Way)

  • After breakfast at the hotel, you will head for the Diskit Monastery housing the magnificent statue of Maitreya Buddha (Buddha of the future)
  • Then, return to Leh. Remember to take a picture with the Khardung La sign board
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel

Thiksey Monastery

DAY 6

Leh – Thiksey – Hemis Monastery (42 km, 1 Hours’ Drive)

  • After breakfast at the hotel, head to visit the Thiksey monastery
  • Afterwards, have breakfast at the hotel Today, you will visit the Thiksey Monastery, and it is residing place of Ladakh’s royal family. The monastery has a huge gold-plated copper statue of Shakyamuni Buddha
  • After Thiksey, proceed to explore the jewel in the crown of the Drukpa lineage, the Hemis Monastery, the biggest monastic institution of Ladakh, situated about 23 kilometers (45 mins) from Thiksey
  • Explore the many interesting facets of this institution, established under the patronage of King Senge Namygal in the 17th century, where young lamas are taught literature, history, philosophy, yoga and tantra. The monastery halls are adorned with beautiful statues and mural paintings
  • Have lunch while returning back to Leh
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel

Leh

DAY 7

Departure from Leh

  • Today will be the last day of your Ladakh tour package
  • After an early breakfast (not included), you will be transferred  to Leh airport to board a flight back to Delhi
