DAY 1
Arrival at West Bengal (NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport) – Gangtok
- Upon arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station(NJP)/ Bagdogra Airport (IXB), (413 feet, 126 m) you will be met by our local representative who will assist you to board your vehicle to Gangtok (5,412 feet, 1650 m, 130 km, 4 to 5 hours)
- Have a pleasant overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok
DAY 2
Gangtok – Tshangu Lake and Baba Mandir Excursion
- After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to Tshangu Lake (12,400 feet, 3,780 m, 43 km in 3 hours one way from Gangtok) and Baba Mandir (13,100 feet, 3,994 m, 16 km in 1 hour one way from Tshangu Lake). The beautiful lake is considered sacred by the local people and is habitat to Brahminy Ducks along with other bird species.
- Return to Gangtok for an overnight stay at the hotel
(In case of Landslide or due to any other reasons if Tshangu Lake is closed then an alternate sightseeing will be provided)
DAY 3
Full-day Gangtok Sightseeing
- On this day of your north east India vacation, get ready for a Full-day Gangtok Sightseeing. The tour will include places like Rumtek Monastery, Ban Jhakri Waterfall, Do-drul Chorten (a stupa in Gangtok), Research Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday), Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom (closed on Sunday) and Flower Show
- Overnight stay at the hotel
DAY 4
Gangtok – Pelling
- Post breakfast, travel to Pelling (5,500 feet, 1,675 m, 116 km, 5 to 6 hours)
- Check-in at the hotel and have a comfortable overnight stay
DAY 5
Pelling – Yuksom Excursion
- After breakfast, you will head to Yuksom (5,840 feet, 1,780 m, 35 km, 2 hours). On your way, you’ll admire the scenic beauty of Darap Village, Rimbi Waterfall and Hydro Project, Khecheopalri Lake (6,000 feet, 1,829 m). It is a part of Buddhist religious pilgrimage circuit. Also, it is believed whatever is wished in front of the lake comes true
- After a short drive from the lake, you will reach Yuksom
- In the evening, return to Pelling
- Check-in and spend the overnight at the hotel
DAY 6
Pelling – Darjeeling
- After breakfast, check-out and you will travel to Darjeeling (6,710 feet, 2,046 m, 125 km, 5 to 6 hours)
- Welcome to Darjeeling, ‘The Queen of Hills’. Check-in and have a restful overnight stay at the hotel
DAY 7
Darjeeling-Early Morning Tour
- Head for an Early Morning Tour to Tiger Hills (8,482 feet, 2,586 m) at around 4 AM to view the gorgeous sunrise over Kangchenjunga Peak (subject to clear weather). On your way back, visit the Ghum Monastery and the Batasia Loop
- After breakfast, go for a half-day sightseeing of Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), Darjeeling Ropeway Ride (ticket cost not included and will be approximately INR 180 per person) Tenzing and Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center(closed on Sunday) and the scenicTea Estate
- Overnight stay at the hotel
DAY 8
Darjeeling – Mirik Excursion
- Post breakfast, travel to Mirik (4,905 feet, 1,495 m, 50 km, 2 hours one way). It is a stunning tourist spot in the hills of Darjeeling
- Today, you will go on a Full-day Excursion of Pashupati Nagar (Indo-Nepal border) for shopping and Mirik Lake (horse riding and boat is available around the lake on direct payment basis)
- In the evening, return to Darjeeling. Check-in and have a pleasant overnight stay at the hotel
DAY 9
Darjeeling – Departure from NJP Railway Station/Bagdogra Airport
- The North East India vacation will come to an end. From Darjeeling, head to NJP Railway Station/(IXB) Bagdogra Airport, (413 feet, 126 m, 100 km, 3 to 4 hours) for onward journey
